Acknowledge the questions and disbelief of a child while underscoring the fun of the Tooth Fairy with this printable letter for older children.
Text of the letter:
Dear Susie,
It sounds like you have been thinking really critically about me recently and wondering whether or not I’m even real. Well, could a fairy who isn’t real write you a letter? I think not! But why should you believe me? Well, because I always tell the tooth, that’s why.
I really like that you are asking questions and thinking differently. You are a clever and inquisitive kid! The Tooth Fairy isn’t really about knowing the answer, though. It isn’t about catching a fairy in the act or seeing one leave money under your pillow. It’s a tradition that is silly and magical to participate in, but it’s okay if you don’t want to be part of it anymore. It doesn’t have to be “real” in order to be fun.
Please let me know if you want me to keep visiting you or if you’d rather have your mom and dad leave you money. But I’m still real to a lot of other children, so please be kind. Thank you for being such a great kid and for taking such good care of your teeth!
Love,
The Tooth Fairy
