Great for little kids who are about to lose their first tooth, this printable letter from the Tooth Fairy addresses the fear of pain.
Text of the letter:
Dear Susie,
I’ve been told that you’re a little scared that it will hurt when your tooth comes out. That’s a very normal fear! I know sometimes when you wiggle the tooth too far, it can feel a little uncomfortable. Right now, your tooth’s roots are dissolving and getting shorter so that your tooth will come out all on its own. As those roots get weaker, it gets easier to pull the tooth out without any pain.
You can definitely wait until your tooth comes out naturally. It might come out when you bite down on some food or brush your teeth. It might come out in your sleep or at school. It’s easy to lose or swallow a tooth that just falls out, though, so you may realize you want to pull it out with a string or your fingers. Once you do, you’ll find that it doesn’t really hurt at all, and you’ll be ready for the next tooth to come!
Love,
The Tooth Fairy
